Hallow's Eve

Sorry it has been so long sence me last update. I usually don't update unless I have some cool pictures to share, and boy do I!. We all had a good Hallow's Eve Eve last night. Played some halo. Carved some Halo. Drank some beers. And then when 2 of our compadres decided to hit the sack early (around 2am) we decided to have a little fun with their door.

Oh my god, I laugh every time I see Tyler doing the Barney Bong. Theres just something about seeing a grown man in a child's halloween costume taking down a beer a second. The picture above it is Tyler bending over in front of Evan. Evan had found better use of Kat's cat-tail.

This was the big event of the night. The symbol is suppose to represent the special edition symbol of halo 2. (Seen Here) There is a pumpkin carving contest being held over at http://halo.bungie.org. (Contest) I was planning on using some of my blue CCFL lights to make the inside glow blue. But I apparently didn't bring those to college, so I used the next best thing which is my green lights. I am kinda thinking the blue would have done it off even better. When my picture is up for voting I will put the link up and hopefully I get a nice tally of voters. Thats that for this weekend so far. Im sure there is more to come.
Blaze2008 says: wow. Umm, Irony.... That last sentence I just said, about being sure there is more to come. That's the last thing I say in the blagosphere for 4 years. Until tehblaze.blogspot happens.

Back In College!

Well, as you can see I am back in college, and damn it is good. I have had 1 day of classes so far, and a LOT of partying. I have been reunited with the old gang, and met many more kickass people. Alchohol can be thanked for many crazy adventures, much like you can see above.

On a serius note, my teachers seem to be cool so far, none of them are too crazy and all seem like they know whats going on in the world. I hope this means getting the good grades will not be as difficult as last year. I have been playing some poker of recent, 2 games last night and 2 games tonight. Last night I got a First and a Second for a total of +25 bucks. This night I lost both games for a loss of -10 bucks. I am still ahead and hopefully I get better luck then tonight. I had to stay sober for the poker games, so finally around 11:30 I headed up to 2nd floor with Matt, aka Ralphie, to help him finish some shots off. Needless to say 15 minutes after going into the room matt was puking because he had already had plenty. I then was a very good friend to him, and drank ALL the open cups in the room so that he was not tempted to drink anymore and sicken himself. By taking that bullet I quickly caught up and went back down to my room to order toppers. Which was delicious, as usual, and was the 3rd night in a row for me. Then my good friend Luke suggested we grab the awesome Blaze Orange sign from Clairement Ave. Which is a pretty busy street, and bring it back to the dorms. 1 hour later the mission was a complete success, minus the part where I lost a sandal, went back to find it , and stepped in one of the biggest Picker Bushes I have ever seen My foot is still numb. Sorry for having barely any updates recently.

Ps. I am still slightly intoxicated.

Old Dog, New Car

Blaze2008 says: Look, pilgrim before "I" happened. What a great car. And since I am in a good mood I'll show you a bonus picture of Young Dog. (Actually, its because I just found it, whoops, its huge and im too lazy to fix that. Oh well.) Oh, and PS, I just realized you should never name a car, (i actually didn't name it... greg did) because once its named, its much harder to consider selling. :-(

Finished New Computer : Deep Blue.

Well, long week of work; 40 @ School Specialty, 8 at Tom's. I did, however, Finally find time to finish my new computer. The image links you to a webgallery if your mouse did not hint to that yet. On other news im addicted to Gunbound A asian game involving tanks and wind, and shooting people with angles and velocity. The best part isnt the actual gameplay, its the ranking system and ability to buy your avatar unique clothes and pets. I know, It sounds gay, but it's got me attached. I'm also trying to polish my Counter-strike skills so I can go to PCarcade with my cousin sometime and enjoy the massacring of cocky little kids.

*Blaze2008 says: Check out the main gallery picture. See what I was trying to do there, include the license plate in the top. Yeah, I'm an arteest.

And then the desk got into the modding scuffle

Oh, and FYI, this is the light I use at night when I need to see the keyboard. It puts out just enough to not destract from the monitor but enough to see the keys.
*Blaze2008 says: "READ: Huge NERD!" also, you should note this is something only someone who plays way to late at night needs. I think its main purpose was so that I could game, see the keyboard and not have my bedroom light on therefore my parents couldn't see that I was awake without coming into the room.

Nice Day for Modding

*Blaze2008 says: Notice how I didn't say anything during this post. I find that amusing because I know this is a failed mod. The cd tray can't work with this amount of support. Once the cd gets spinning it starts bouncing up and down and the laser eye can't read the disc. So although this looks completely badass and cool as hell, its useless.

Up and Running.

Well, I put the parts in last night. One of the Cdroms doesn't want to open. That's about my only problem. Otherwise it booted up smooth as a bird, whatever that means.

Still needing completion off the project list is the stealthed drives, UV lights, and possible modding of the Top CD rom. Also, finding out if my 3 led laser light still works.

Mod-Comp Log: day 2

First off I would like to point out that today, at work, I ran across an order for some school in "Battle Creek" Missouri. Haha, good stuff eh? Alright, on to the goods.
Yesterday after posting on the website, I ended up going out and playing around with my new case and PSU. The first, of what I can only imagine will be many flaws, arouse. The case is made for a PSU to be attached UPSIDE DOWN! which I juggled the idea for several milliseconds before deciding the ONLY way for this to look right was to have the PSU facing up, so that the window pointed to the ceiling instead of too the ground. My first thoughts were to drill new holes, create something to go between the PSU and case that both would screw into, or detach the plate of the PSU and flip it upside down, seeing as how that is the only thing the case screws into. I decide to go with the last one and take it a part, I soon found the plate would not flip over all the way because of 2 short wires powering the back fan.

After much debating, I decided to cut the 2 wires, and solder on extra wire I had cut from a old fan, thus lengthening the wires.

Next is a picture of the new longer wires.

It took some coaxing, but I got the PSU back into it's previous condition with the plate flipped over just as I needed. It fit right back into the case as expected and even worked!
Today I went to MPC to see if I could pick up some UV CCFL's and not have to worry about shipping. Not the case, they wanted $25 for two 12 inch CCFL's and a dual inverter, which I could easily get for under $10 at SVC.
*Blaze2008 would like to point out that the first sentence is a Halo reference.
*Blaze2008 would also like to say that the PSU finally broke a couple months ago leading to him needing to buy a new PC. Hmmm, I had forgot about this mod. Now the psu breaking doesn't really suprise me.

What a man loves to open the door to after a hard days work.

And by man, I definitely mean computer geek. I was very surpised today to be welcomed into my home by box1 and box2 after a long day at the new place of employment, which is a-whole-nother story. I had ordered these a couple days ago, but barely expected them to be here before the weekend, much less 2 days before. I quickly hid my excitement and went into my room to wait until a future time arose to check it out. Now as I look back I realize this is a much different approach then when I was younger, and would rip open any new package at the door like it was a present. I guess I have found with age, that the feeling you get while anticipating a great experiance, is often better then the actual experiance. My brother soon came home from school and insisted on opening the packages, I grudgingly agreed and grabbed my camera as I went to investigate.

I had some doubt about a full plexi-case even after I ordered it. I've always thought of myself as one who can pick out something that looks good and knowing what compliments it, and one thing I've always tried to have catch the eye, is my computer case. Even as a freshman in high school, making my first computer, I quickly cut a window out of the side panel and glued plexi-glass to the back(by I, I mean by Dad). That was long before computers came "pre-modded". So of course when cases made completely of acrylic started being introduced they always caught my eye, but were usually very expensive, plus I hadn't quiet pinned down if they were worthy of keeping someone's attention besides the fact that they were completely different from the previous cases. The only problem was that there was little one could do to set himself apart from the newly increasing crowd of acrylic cases. The first time I said to myself "Yep, your next case will be acrylic" was when I saw a dark tinted acrylic case somewhere with red glowing interior fans. It was all acrylic, yet it was unique from every other clear case, which was the selling point for me. I started looking into them and realized they had gotten a lot cheaper then before, I found mine for < $100.

Either way I still had doubt as the case was being sent to my house. As I unwrapped it from its warm cocoon of Styrofoam I suddenly realized this was no mistake at all. My camera, of course, couldn't capture its beauty as much as one would hope. These pictures are brighter then they should be, it holds more of a deep ocean blue aura to it. But enough talking, I've obviously been blabbering on long enough.

And less I not forget about the new member of the computer family, The lazy modder's best friend, Mr. Aspire dual-fan 500w power supply, completely petsleeved and windowed. Although it pains me to buy something pre-modded, keeping me from putting the time and effort into doing it myself, it definitely looks awesome. (I use "awesome" not as the word pop-culture has made to simply mean 'above cool', but as "awe-inspiring")

Well, that is it for now, I will have new pictures of it up and running in the near future, and I might even have some nice graphics added. ;D Also, I ran across this while uploading the pictures. http://blaze.tehownz.com/modlogan/ the whole "modlogan" folder is a complete stranger to me and I can only imagine that whoever is hosting this website has put it on there due to their complete adoration of me, erm, or something like that.

1 year down, 7 to go.

1st North 2003-2004 Yearbook. It was truely a great year and I wouldn't have wanted anything else. You all were a great bunch of guys and we always made the best of things, through the ups and even the downs. I'll miss you all, especially the guys that aren't going to be around next year. The yearbook will always be a reminder of our good times, Enjoy.

Upon further thought, I should add that if you are not from the hall, some, and by some I mean most, of the pictures may appear to have "homosexual connotation", You should take the time to realize the affects of close-quarter same-sex habitation.

*Blaze2008 realizes you won't be able to see that gallery, so I'll just throw up a couple of the must-see's. The halo picture is more or less a poke at assailant 9. He is EKAJ and I taught him how to play halo. It pains me to say this but.... he... may... have surpassed me... maybe. Don't ask me why I took pictures of halo scores. I have another one where my name was HK-47. And yes, that is SUPER nerdy. ( I had to google search it to even understand the reference). Also, I was going to copy more pictures, but I realized if you have facebook you can see them all right here.
